Magnetic {eye) - Jerusalem / FOUND TAPES 01-03-2000 bis 20-06-2000 zeigt Jerusalem in einer kleinen Auswahl von Fragmenten auf den Strassen gefundener Magnetton- und Videobänder. Diese Fundstücke, deren Inhalt zum Zeitpunkt des Fundes unbekannt war, sind spontanen Videoaufnahmen des Fundortes gegenübergestellt.
Der Film hat nicht den Anspruch einer vollständigen topographischen Darstellung Jerusalems und entzieht sich mittels seiner strengen formalen Struktur einer politischen Wertung des neu aufgebrochenen Konflikts. Vielmehr geht es darum, die Stimmungen einer fragilen und gleichzeitig herben Stadt zu transportieren.
„MAGNETIC [EYE] - JERUSALEM versammelt 36 Fundorte von Ton- und Videotapes in Jerusalem, Anfang 2000 gefilmt, und zusammengeschnitten mit den restaurierten Fundstücken, und erzeugt durch dieses scheinbar willkürliche Verfahren das Portrait einer Stadt, wie man es sich genauer kaum vorstellen kann.“

Magnetic {eye) - Jerusalem / FOUND TAPES, March 1, 2000 to June 20, 2000 shows Jerusalem in a small selection of fragments of audio and videocassettes found on the streets. These found objects, whose contents were unknown at the time of their discovery, are put together with spontaneous video footage of the locations of their discovery.
The film does not try to be a complete topographical representation of Jerusalem and escapes political evaluation of the newly erupted conflict by means of its strictly formal structure. It is much more a question of transporting the moods of a fragile and at the same time harsh city.
